The Prince Fielder sweepstakes were swept up by the Detroit Tigers in a shocker to the baseball world.
The Tigers signed Fielder, who will turn 28 in May agreed to a huge 9 year, $214 million contract Tuesday.
Yu Darvish has caused quite the commotion on bidding wars trying to attain the 25 year old ace from Japan. The Texas Rangers won the bid after a reported $51.7 million will go to his former Japenese team to sign Darvish.
The departure of CJ Wilson, gives the Rangers the leverage to spend on a top of the line, front end rotation starter. Darvish is five years younger than Wilson and Darvish could bring stability to top of the rotation.
Former New York Mets skipper and Baseball Tonight Analyst Bobby Valentine will be the manager of the Boston Red Sox.
Contract terms haven’t been finalized and are on-going. Valentine has a lot of work ahead of him, after Boston’s historic 9 game lead collapse and allowing the Tampa Bay Devil Rays to win the AL Wild Card.
And speaking of money, Albert Pujols wins his 2nd World Series title. After all the contract negotiation problems starting in spring training with him and Cardinals management, he remained true to his word and didn’t let the contract get in the way of the most important thing, WINNING. Pujols is overdue now with that being said, PAY THE MAN!
After a historic postseason statistically, Nelson Cruz is left in the same breath as Bill Buckner and Steve Bartman, instead of Reggie Jackson. Pretty crazy how one muffed routine fly ball is what now defines you and consequently costing his squad the Texas Rangers their first World Series title.
David Freese is the World Series MVP in a shocker! A walk-off homer in the bottom of the 11th to force a Game 7 and tonight tied the game with a 2-run double. World Series stats: .348 Batting Average, 1 legendary home run, 7 RBIs and 1 beautiful 2012 Chevy Corvette. Freese is due for a new contract, all I want is the dolla dolla bills.
